Job description

The Nordic IT team at Aller Media is searching for an Application Support Specialist for support and management of their new business system Advantage, a vertically operating subscription system for the media industry. You will be part of a dedicated IT team and have a role where you are responsible for the business system integration with support systems and external parties, its development and assist internal super-user colleagues working with the system.

 

You will also troubleshoot the system when necessary and be part of coordination and specification work. You have probably worked in a coordination role with business systems and have experience with some standardized integration platform. You have basic programming knowledge, and some knowledge of SQL.

 

Job duties

The Application Support Specialist is a key role where you will be working in a Nordic IT organization. You will support the organization regarding the operational aspects of the business system and ensure the daily work environment. This may involve setting new integrations with third parties or manage existing integrations and making changes according to business needs. You will have both short- and long-term vision to enable further development of the system.

 

You will have a wide repertoire where your focus is to optimize the use of the business system. It is important that you are self-motivated and have the ability to see solutions rather than problems. The biggest challenge of the role is to understand the business system and develop it efficiently, while having a good understanding of the business.

 

You will, for example:

  • Support end users in everyday use of the subscription system
  • Analyse and troubleshoot subscription system, database and existing integrations
  • Develop new features and implement change requests
  • Test new customizations
  • Document and report as needed
  • Develop internal and external collaboration around business systems environment.

 

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has worked some years in a coordination role with business systems, for example as business consultant, system owner, application consultant, project manager or similar. If you also have worked with some kind of support, we see that as a merit. You also have some hands-on experience in SW development and/or database handling.

 

You probably have an IT educational background and you are curious about business processes. It is also a plus if you have previous experience of integration platforms or maintaining standard systems.

 

You are fluent in English and either Swedish or Danish.

 

Personally, you are a team player that thrives in an environment where you work closely with your colleagues and partners. You take the initiative to ensure that you have all what you need to accomplish your tasks successfully. You are able to keep calm and focussed while working under pressure and you meet deadlines by objectively prioritizing when you have many tasks on your table.

 

A major challenge that will require good organizational skills is that there are many different activities on daily basis aimed to different stakeholders, all working in a Nordic level. You will need to cooperate with your colleagues to find the best possible solutions. Something valuable in your personality is creative thinking and that you can see different solutions that not always are obvious to others.

 

START: As soon as possible.

SCOPE: Full time, permanent employment.

WORKING HOURS: Office hours.

LOCATION: Malmö or Copenhagen.
